XFL to SD: I’m all in

Why the fook not? Bringing back the most popular sport in America that we recently lost is a no-brainer even if it’s a different capacity. We touched on this topic on the South Bay Hot Stove last week (33:00-41:00 mark), please give a listen.

Let’s stay away from the logistics of this being a possibility for the time being, and focus on one question: Do you want another (semi) professional team in town?

Look at the landscape people. Padres, Gulls, Sockers, Seals. For the 8th largest city in America one word comes to mind: Pathetic.

How could another failed attempt at the XFL be embarrassing for San Diego? Were the cities in the original XFL embarrassed when the experiment failed? That take makes zero sense to me. We could get some more sports entertainment in a sport this town deserves while showing the nation that we, the county of SD, care about Football.

If the league were to fail again, who gives a flying f*ck. But I don’t think it will.

I was listening to a recent Dave and Jeff Podcast and they brought up some interesting points. This is not going o be the same XFL. Vince McMahon has clearly thought this through and probably has ironed out some wrinkles from the first time around. He’s willing to bank his own money on it.

No halftimes? Awesome. Two Hour games? Yes Please.

We will be kicking ourselves in the dick if we miss out on the new XFL. Bring it to San Diego. Let's just start debating about the team name.

I have come around. I am feeling the San Diego Tacos now. As my wise older brother brother brought up, "Not enough teams are named after food."
